Smoking. Pickling. Fermenting.
Preserving the flavors of all four seasons—one dish at a time.
Dyeing. Weaving. Beating.
Let every touch bring back a tradition—every gesture a craft.
Songs. Rituals. Dance.
Through chant and movement, the soul of a people lives on.

Every act of preservation is a quiet tribute to the land.
Each moment, each motion, gently records its memory.

Late summer in the valley—where we meet again.
Each dish, each craft, each performance
is a poetic offering written by tribe and nature together.

A Hundred Dishes × Music in the Wind × Edible Stories
Feast in the Fields × Indigenous Selections × Mountain Challenges

Preservation is not just tradition—it’s a way of life.
It holds depth in the ordinary,
ferments slowly between mountain and sea,
carrying time forward in silence.

August 29–31, 2025

There is no age limit for East Rift Valley Festival. It is suitable for everyone who wants to try out the special food of the indigenous people, experience making various kinds of indigenous crafts or food, or just want to chill for a whole afternoon. The East Rift Valley Festival welcomes all the people of the earth (and aliens too...) join in the fun!
※This is a pet-friendly event. Your furry kids are welcome.
※This is a non-smoking event. No smoking allowed throughout the event premises.

  • It would be a shame not to have a picnic in the large grassy area! Bring your own picnic mats and photo props, and have a summer picnic after loads of food at the market for a sumptuous outdoor feast!
  • We encourage you to bring reusable utensils and tableware to do your part for the earth!
  • Pack your bag with the 3 precautionary items for peace of mind while enjoying the event
    1. Insect Repellent: Since the event venue is located in a natural environment, bringing insect repellent will keep mosquitoes and bugs away, allowing you to enjoy the event even more!
    2. Sunscreen: We’re certain you will be basking under plenty of golden sunshine, especially in eastern Taiwan. Don't forget to apply sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun's rays!
    3. Rain protection: An umbrella in your bag is a good idea. Holding an umbrella when you go to the market and watch a show on a rainy day could be even more romantic!

"East Rift Valley Festival" will take place in an outdoor venue, rain or shine! Whether it's a sunny day or windy and rainy, we will proceed with the event as scheduled!
At the event, music performances and market stalls will be held outdoors. For the handcraft experience area, there will be tents set up. We recommend participants to bring their own sunscreen, insect repellent, and rain gear.

There is a parking lot at the event venue. If you are driving, please park your car in the parking lot, please refer to the map of the event site for the location of the parking lot.
